Quantitative Research Analyst

We are seeking a consumer research professional with survey research experience, strong data management and analytical skills that can be turned into strategic insights and recommendations for clients. Position Summary:

Participate on project teams to achieve project goals and client expectations through quality work and timely execution.  Responsibilities include project management, survey development, vendor management for programming and testing, data management, analysis, charting and report development. In addition to custom survey research, leverage Hartman’s proprietary Eating Occasion database, US Census microdata, sales data, and other data resources as appropriate for project work and consulting engagements.


  • Manage survey research projects, within timeline and budgets, including working closely with colleagues to achieve project goals
  • Design questionnaires and plan analyses, leveraging available learnings from qualitative research and prior surveys
  • Perform quality checks throughout the project to ensure accuracy
  • Manage the overall project timelines, ensuring that milestones are met and signed off at the various stages of the project
  • Analyze and interpret survey results; prepare reports and presentations
  • Develop an understanding of client business issues and the food and beverage industry overall



  • Bachelors or graduate degree in analytical or insights-focused fields such as sociology, economics, political science, statistics or allied field. Master’s degree a plus. 


  • 3+ years of experience in survey design and marketing research in an analysis-driven role
  • 2+ years of experience synthesizing multiple, complex data streams (e.g. survey data, sales data, government data, Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, Euromonitor data)
  • 2+ years of experience in survey sampling, weighting methods and inferential statistics


  • Problem solver with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, marrying social science and business perspectives
  • Proficient in quantitative research and statistical methods, with experience in at least one industry-standard statistical analysis packages (e.g., SPSS, Stata or R)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, notably PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Data visualization skills a plus
