Topic: Sustainability
Long before “green marketing” was the latest buzzword, The Hartman Group put the consumer face on the cultural phenomenon that is sustainability. Building on 20 years of consumer insights, we have mapped consumers’ evolutions, adoptions and aspirations in the environmental and social values marketplace. In 2007, we became the first to dimensionalize the attitudinal shift driving this significant consumer trend of sustainability. Now in 2008, we go beyond the hype, taking a deep dive into the key categories tied to companies’ economic, environmental and social responsibility objectives and long-term sustainability strategic planning.
This comprehensive study will combine the strength of a quantitative sample size of 1,600 US consumers and in-depth ethnographic consumer immersions to gauge the depth of current sustainability “consciousness,” involvement and usage. This integrated approach allows us to go beyond the usual listing of motivators and barriers to uncover the principal drivers responsible for moving consumers along the adoption path in the World of Sustainability.
