The study, which surveyed 43,442 U.S. households, focuses on consumer usage and purchase of 25 vitamins and minerals, as well as over 70 natural herbal remedies and single ingredient oils, extracts and supplements. Over two - thirds (29,661) of the 43,442 households surveyed indicated usage of vitamins, minerals or herbal supplements (not used in cooking or food preparation) in the past six months.
Because of the size of the sample, statistically reliable usage estimates on nearly all compounds and products studied are available in the report.
