The Hartman Group Appoints Laurie Demeritt as President; Harvey Hartman Continues as Chairman and CEO
BELLEVUE, WA, March 14, 2001 - The Hartman Group, the consumer market research and consulting organization specializing in wellness, announces the appointment of Laurie Demeritt as President and COO. Demeritt, who has been with The Hartman Group for three years, joined the team to head up the marketing department, gradually moving into business development and client services.
Harvey Hartman, the founder of The Hartman Group, will remain an integral part of the company as Chairman and CEO. Hartman will continue to be actively involved in key accounts and strategic partnerships; however, his new role as Chairman will allow him to devote more time to strategic planning and trend research.
"With the rapid growth and consumer interest in wellness products and services, we have a tremendous opportunity to grow our own business," said Harvey Hartman. "Laurie has both the industry and functional experience to take advantage of this opportunity and take our organization to the next level. Her new role as President will strengthen our management team and allow her to focus her skills on day-to-day operations."
"The Hartman Group is leading the way in consumer research in the quickly evolving field of consumer wellness," said Demeritt. "As our clients will attest, our team of quantitative and qualitative researchers and client service managers are the best in the industry. I am thrilled to be taking on a new role in this company that will continue to be at the leading edge of the market."
Most recently, Demeritt was Executive Vice President at The Hartman Group, and previously she served at the Vice President of Marketing and the Director of Marketing. Demeritt received her Master's of Business Administration from the University of Washington and her Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University.
