New Hartman Group Study Seeks to Understand How Children's Wellness is Affected by Their Parents

2005-08-31

New Children's Wellness Study Announced - Upcoming Children's Wellness Study to Understand Wellness by Children and Their Parents

BELLEVUE, WA, August 31, 2005 - The Hartman Group, a market research and consulting company specializing in health, wellness and consumer lifestyles, announces a new syndicated research study scheduled to begin in this Fall, At the Intersection of Anxiety and Hope: Children's Wellness Study 2005.

The upcoming study explores contemporary families and new interpretations of wellness that are being framed by parents for their children based on a broad range of fears, anxieties, hopes and aspirations. "These emotional states are no longer driven simply by specific health concerns," says Michelle Barry, Vice President of Consumer Insights and Trends for The Hartman Group, " but are instead superseded by parental concerns with 'living better lives,' which in turn form the basis of how children see wellness."

This new study will include dialogue with both adult care-givers and children between the ages of 10 and 18, and will provide insights into the process of how families negotiate wellness lifestyles. This includes detailed analysis of not only adult and child motivations and interests in wellness, but the process of how wellness is incorporated into daily lives both at home and socially in terms of wellness practices, shopping and brand selection.

The children's wellness study draws upon a unique combination of qualitative and ethnographic consumer research techniques, and will enable manufacturers to gain a greater understanding of how family wellness dynamics impact both current and future business.
