Bellevue, Washington, January 3, 2012 – The Hartman Group today announced that it has appointed James Richardson, Ph.D. as senior vice president to lead its Hartman Consulting division. Richardson will report to Hartman Group president and COO, Laurie Demeritt.
In his role, Richardson will guide the day-to-day operations and strategic direction for Hartman Consulting, which helps food and beverage clients identify growth opportunities by aligning their food portfolios to real consumer demand, both existing and emerging. “James is extremely adept at identifying opportunity spaces for clients,” said Demeritt. “His proven leadership of our fast-developing consulting practice delivers strong growth and outstanding performance for our clients. He is at the forefront of pioneering new ways to analyze market trends at the margins and evaluate which ones hold the potential to be mainstreamed by innovative CPG companies. This work involves a unique marriage of cultural anthropology, statistics and business strategy, a multi-disciplinary approach that reflects Hartman Group’s unique culture and outlook on innovation.”
Richardson started with Hartman Group in September 2003 as Senior Ethnographer in qualitative primary research where he helped develop the company’s proprietary models for understanding consumer and shopper behaviors in the contexts of how people live, shop and use brands and products.
